I had a great meeting with a very wise man who is one of the heads of my real estate company. I was saying how boring it is to blog about real estate or TRY to blog about real estate…we all know the bad news that doesn’t get better. We all know that even though it’s a great time for BUYERS they still want to “rape and plunder” like the days or ore and put in offers with ridiculous prices – why? BECAUSE THEY CAN. I jokingly said I wish I could write about FOOD – or SHOES – or where to get the BEST T-SHIRTS and he said “do it”. Write about your passion – write about what you love and sometimes don’t love… the more interesting and diverse your blog is the more people will relate to.

So I am not having hundreds of links that will just give you the news that the media wants to you hear…bad or good…I will tell you about my experience at the WhisK N Ladle for lunch. The restaurant is located in La Jolla and has a great location – well it was BETTER before Saks closed down right across the street and it made for a great two for one visit”. Also it was a different restaurant then that went where most restaurants go…restaurant heaven.

The patio atmosphere is lovely and the day was beautiful…and I must say the cappucino was great. We were waiting for a friend so we ordered the “duck sausage and broussel sprout pizza…and seriously this was the pizza of the day or we would have had NONE of it! But what the heck…I said hold the sprouts which they kindly did- bringing them on the side…raw…disgusting…so we dove into the duck sausage and mystery cheese because we were starving. The sausage had no relation to any duck that I have ever met and I know they were trying to be “creative” – but this is San Diego we are “chill” here…we don’t need to explore dried up pretend duck.

The entree was smoked chicken salad with goat cheese—and I am obviously the ONLY person on the planet that doesn’t understand the GOAT…If I had to envision eating smelly feet – well that would be my opinion of goat cheese. I did substitute it for parmasean so that part was great. The smoked chicken pieces were teeny tiny and smoked I believe where the GOAT was kept because the flavor was so gamey and strong. I think there were mushed apple pieces in the salad as well…not sure.

My friend thought her was delicious – my other friend was on my band wagon. I forgot about the cucumber water – that goes great when you are at SPA…but on a nice hot day in La Jolla PLAIN water- or even lemon water works…cucumber water doesn’t! ANYWHO…guess one of my friends and I will not be going back there. It’s fun when there is “adventure brewing” in the kitchen…and truthfully I am a foodie and eat out a lot… sadly not there!
