I am in a very interesting escrow- one where the seller is representing himself after “firing” his agent in the middle of escrow. Once again this one is “brand new for me” situation. Needless to say it is very difficult dealing directly with a seller as emotions run deep no matter whatever anyone says. It’s hard enough for me to NOT be emotional during a transaction as I truly do want everyone to be HAPPY! These days that it s LOT to ask for! Divorce sales are everywhere and NO ONE is happy…even if you don’t want to be married to the person NO ONE IS HAPPY! It’s a tiny death and reflects on every decision that buyer or seller makes.
In negotiating some issues – over and over again this seller says to me “it’s ALL about $’s… tell your buyer to “get over the emotions”! This one was hard to digest as I just wanted to reach in and strangle the guy – who I don’t even know – so why would I risk a jail sentence. But I wanted to say – “that is so WRONG” I sell houses — I do it very well —and every buyer wants a “good price”. We want a good price when we buy SHOES right? But homes are picked and purchased because of emotion, excitement, a dream fulfilled, satisfaction that what one visualized though never “perfect” is attainable. A good investment is great to have – but sometimes that is not what one wants as “their home”. How sad I though that people don’t realize that if we don’t have the possibility of the “American Dream” then our dreams are truly gone!
Buy with love and emotion- just look at what you can afford and it all works out!!!
